THE ORIGINS
Our story begins with a dream: Alex Maccan’s, who has been spending time in these places since he was a child and recognises their simplicity and beauty. In time and with the determination of business-savvy people, the dream became a reality in partnership with his lifelong friends Marta, Giovanni and Massimo.
The Le Monde vineyard is located in an area shaped by the rivers that have deposited here the calcareous-dolomitic material torn from the mountains and carried downstream along their bed.
These plots mainly consist of clayey-calcareous soils of alluvial origin, which cover the underlying gravelly layer and exalt the aromas of our best white wines.
The soil, however, is also rich in microelements important for black grape varieties, which benefit from particular microclimatic conditions.
THE GRAPES
Thanks to the potential generated by such rich and diverse soils, Le Monde grows not only the best native varieties – Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso – but also the most important international varieties, which here express themselves with personality and balance.
